What is poly-E-fair?
poly-E-fair is the virtual career fair of ETH Zurich. Various tools, such as chat rooms with integrated phone- and video-calls, a job board, the possibility to directly send your application documents to the companies, and live speeches of company representatives and keynote speakers, elevate the experience of a physical fair into a virtual career fair in the modern digital world.
How can I join?
poly-E-fair 2021 is now open for registration! You can register at the fair itself, found here.
How does it work?
- Virtual booths: explore your dream company – your potential employer;
- Built-in chat & call: your chance to impress company representatives with your professional attitude and interest via engaging live conversations;
- Online profile: your stage to shine. Connect your LinkedIn, describe your career goals and let the recruiters find YOU! (Note: your virtual profile is visible to the companies, not to the other visitors.)
- Built-in application tool: send your application documents directly to company representatives;
- Keynote speeches & company live-streams: workshops and speeches on how to find your desired job, avoid common job application mistakes and get invaluable insights into companies’ business!
How can I benefit?
poly-E-fair gives the unique opportunity to connect with companies and inspiring speakers in digital but still personal ways.
You have the possibility to explore virtual booths in which each of our partner companies presents itself. You can get in contact with the company-representatives by means of personal chats, calls, videocalls, and in live-workshops. You will also have access to a job wall, and you can hand-in your application documents to each company directly during the fair. This will allow you to get invaluable insights into the businesses of our many partner companies.
Last but not least, there will be various career-related keynote speeches to boost your confidence and success in career development.
Who can participate?
poly-E-fair is the virtual career fair of the ETH. This means that we address in particular all ETH students, doctoral candidates, postdocs, employees, alumni as well as members of EPFL, PSI, Empa, Eawag and WSL. However, people outside the ETH-Domain who would like to establish a virtual connection with their potential employers are also welcome.
Language
There is NO requirement of speaking or understanding German. Every piece of information is also provided in English.
Payment
No, the event and all its functions are FREE of charge.
I participated last year. Do I have to register again?
Yes, you have to register again. Due to data protection, we had to delete all accounts from previous editions of the poly-E-fair. Please register again on our virtual fair platform
Is this the first poly-E-fair?
No. poly-E-fair was founded in 2019. In 2020, the event was repeated and attracted almost three times as many visitors and exhibitors as in the first iteration.

poly-E-fair 2021 is brought to you by Telejob (AVETH), Forum&Contact (VSETH), and ETH Alumni Association.

All the company booths were extremely interactive. It was a great event.
Companies offered a lot of information on their virtual stands — even, additional information that isn't published on their company websites.
The many different information/contract possibilities were great. Easy guidance and orientation.
A huge plus compared to regular fairs is that you don't have to stand awkwardly next to the people talking if you're not part of the original conversation!
What I like most is that it was possible to interact with many job profiles (from trainees to bosses)
